This kale smoothie is one of our favourite and a great way to have a healthy snack (meal).
We drink it 1-2 times a week and we treat it as a last snack before we go to sleep (we don’t drink it however later than 2 hours before going to bed – in our case last healthy snack time is ca. 9pm).
Kale contains powerful antioxidants (helps protect against certain types of cancers), fibre, calcium, vitamin K, C and beta carotene. It is also a source of sulfarophane that has anti diabetic properties.
Kale has a little bit stronger flavor than spinach, so if you prefer sweeter flavours and you are really not in to veggie aroma in smoothies we have great news – our smoothie contains banana – it helps to mask unwanted flavours and you will barely taste the kale. You might also want to use other strongly flavoured fruits such pineapple or strawberries.
1 spoon of honey (we use organic, made in Poland)
1/2 spoon of grape oil
2 fistful of kale
1 slice of lemon
- Peel the fruits
- Wash the kale
- Place everything in the mixing dish, add honey, lemon and oil and blend together until smooth.
